22. Elastic large scar revision with Jano needle

Capurro S. (2013): 22. Elastic Plastic Surgery - 3D Elastic large scar revision with Jano needle. CRPUB Medical Video Journal

The elastic thread mounted on the two-tipped Jano needle can be used to remove large scars, extensive neoformations and small tattoos and grafts. The Elasticum thread (Korpo srl, Italy) can be used to close residual substance losses following tissue removal, without exerting tension on the margins of the skin; the two-tipped needle on which the thread is mounted exerts traction at a distance from the edges of the wound. In this way, suturing can be intradermal. The Elasticum thread does not cut into the tissues and is transformed into a "ligament". The absence of tension at the edges of the wound enables a good, long-standing result to be achieved. (31/10/19)
