The face of the strop has Australian high quality cow leather that has been meticulously chosen by our team in Sydney to only offer the best performance.
We choose the Smooth side of the leather the final polish and deburr which can be used with the Sydney Strop Co. fine grit paste or used bare with no paste.
Characteristics of Cow leather:
The Cow leather has more flexibility than most leathers, the hide is generally thicker thus creating a more spongy surface to work on.
Cow leather is less prone to cracking and is more robust. Generally Cow leather can help aid in creating a convex edge on the blade adding strength to the bevel due to its spongy characteristic.
