Some RS400 boats use a 2-1 purchase on the main halyard (through a shackle/clevis pin arrangment) attached to the top of the head of the jib, and back to the top of the mast). This makes for easier hoisting and allows for half the tension in the halyard inside the mast (so there is less chance of the top slipping down).
